Dr. Singleton is a native of Iredell County. She completed her BA in Biology at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC in 1995 and then attended medical school at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. After graduation from medical school in 1999, she completed an internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at East Carolina University in 2002. She worked for many years as an emergency department and urgent care physician before deciding to make a career change. She returned to residency in 2007 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where she completed her training in adult psychiatry. She is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Adult Psychiatry and later served as faculty in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry as an Assistant Professor at Wake Forest Baptist Health for 5 years. Additionally, she has worked in the community as both an inpatient and outpatient psychiatrist and hospital consultant.
